Burning Man Festival Nevada 2019

Burning Man, an annual event takes place in Black Rock City. Black Rock City is a temporary city in the western United States, erected in the Black Rock Desert of northwest Nevada (100 miles of Reno).The name of this annual event is from its culmination, the symbolic ritual burning of a large wooden effigy (The Man).

This year more than 100000 people are expected to participate this event.

History

The first event of Burning Man Festival held in San Francisco, on Baker Beach in 1986. Larry Harvey and Jerry James organized this as a small function 33 years ago. They built the first "Man" and Burnt it. Since then it has been held annually. Every year it starts from last Sunday of August to first Monday of September.

Note: First Monday of September is Labor Day.

About Black Rock Desert

The Black Rock Desert is a semi arid region in 300000 acres of Nevada land. Black rock desert is result of lava beds and playa. It is located in the northern Nevada section of the Great Basin with a lakebed (Dry remnant of Pleistocene Lake Lahontan).
