Despite oppositions formed alliance, PM Narendra Modi has become the new Prime Minister of India in 2019. BJP has won highest majority seats in the Lok Sabha Elections 2019. Political scholars has foreseen Modi's victory prior to the elections. There is modi wave in the nation for sure. Perhaps it must be the first time, despite of alliance of opposition parties, ruling party achieved highest number of votes.

Who is Narendra Modi?


Full name of Narendra Modi ji is Narendra Damodardas Modi. He was born on 17 September 1950. A proud Hindu and an Indian. He was the chief minister of Gujarat, India from 2001 to 2014. Modi has elected as Member of Parliament from Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, India. Modi led the BJP in the 2014 general election, which gave the party a majority in the Indian lower house of parliament, the Lok Sabha, the first time for any single party since 1984.

Narendra Modi born in a family of grocers in Vadnagar, Mehsana district, Bombay State(Present Gujarat). He was the third of six children born to Damodardas Mulchand Modi and Hiraben Modi. During his childhood days, he used to help his father to sell tea at Vadnagar railway station. Later on he joined hands with his elder brother to run a tea shop near bus terminus. At the age of eight, Modi discovered Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh(RSS) and frequently attended local sakhas training sessions.

In a custom traditional to his cast, his family arrange betrothal to a girl Jashodaben Chimanlal leading to their marriage when they were teenagers. Then Modi spent the ensuing two years travelling across India (Norther and North Eastern India) and visited Hindu ashrams founded by Swami Vivekananda. It is believed Swami Vivekananda has large influence in his life.

In early 1970, Modi returned to Vadnagar and then moved to live with his uncle in Ahmedabad. He worked in his uncle's canteen at the Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation. Post India-Pakistan war, he left job and became full time pracharak for the RSS.

Educational Qualifications


Modi received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Polical Science from school of Open Learning at University of Delhi in 1978. Five years later, in 1983 he received a Master of Arts degree in political science from Gujarat University.

Political Career


During Emergency decalred by Prime Minister Indira Gandhi (1975-1977), Modi was general secretary of the 'Gujarat Lok Sangharsh Samiti' protesting opposition to the Emergency in Gujarat. Soon after RSS was banned. Then Modi continued the opposition while remaining in disguise and roaming one city to another. In 1978, Modi became Sambhag Pracharak of RSS, overseeing RSS activities in the areas of Surat and Vadodara. 1979 he got responsibility to research and write the RSS version of emergency and so he shifted to Delhi. Then in 1987, Modi helped organise the BJP's campaign in Ahmedabad Municipal election. BJP won the elections.

Modi too break from politics in 1992 but returned to politics due Advaniji, and Modiji's election strategy led BJP victory in the 1995 State Elections of Gujarat. In November, 1995 he was elected as BJP National Secretary and transferred to New Delhi and he carried the responsbility of party activities in Haryana and Himachal Pradesh. In 1998 Modi was promoted to BJP General Secretary.

In 2001, Kesubhai Patel was the chief minister candidate from BJP for the elections but his detoriating health ignited for new candidate. L.K Advaniji proposed Modiji's name for deputy chief minister but Modiji declined the proposal. In october 3,2001 He replaced Patel as Chief Minister of Gujarat with the repsonsibility of leading BJP Party for the elections and defeated Ashwin Mehta by 14728 votes and became the chief Minister of Gujarat in 2001. He was the Chief Minister of Gujarat since 2001 to 2014.

Today (May, 26, 2019) Narendra Modiji met Honourable President of India to form Government and he is going to be the Prime Minister of India again.
