World Environment Day 2019: Existence of life is purely because of the environment around it. Advanced fast life is majorly responsible for rapid weakening the environment. We have forgotten, in this 52850 light years radius galaxy, our Earth is the only planet that contain suitable environment for life. For few minutes pleasure and easiness in life, we are sacrificing such an invaluable entity at a very fast manner. The only thing that could help to protect our Earth Environment is to create plenty of awareness.

Thats why United Nation has stepped forward and declared to organise events on June 5th of Each year to create plenty of awareness towards the safety of Environment. They named it World Environment Day

World Environment Day 2019 Theme

In 2019, China will host the global World Environment Day celebrations on the theme, ‘Air Pollution’. On March 15, 2019 the head of Chinese delegation, Zhao Yingmin, Vice Minister of Ecology and Environment, and Joyce Msuya, Acting Head of UN Environment, jointly announced that China is going to host the global World Environment Day celebrations on 5 June 2019 with a theme of air pollution.

Why World Environment Day is Important?

Approximately 7 million people worldwide die prematurely each year from air pollution, with about 4 million of these deaths occurring in Asia-Pacific. World Environment Day 2019 will urge governments, industry, communities, and individuals to come together to explore renewable energy and green technologies, and improve air quality in cities and regions across the world. 

There is untimely raining each year. Most of the rains across the globe are acid rain because of the air pollution. There have been fast decreasing in the numbers of birds in the sky of metro cities. This is too because of Air Pollution. Air pollution consists of chemicals or particles in the air that can harm the health of humans, animals, and plants. It also damages buildings. Pollutants in the air take many forms. They can be gases, solid particles, or liquid droplets.

Reasons Behind Air Pollutions

There are more than 100 reasons that are primely responsible for air pollution. But the few of them are emissions of poisonous gas from factories, cars, and aeroplanes. Even cigarette smoke also causes air pollution. Such pollution sources are called anthropogenic sources. 

Sometimes nature too is responsible for air pollution. Such as volcano eruption, smoke from burning forests etc. These sources are natural sources. In metro cities, large skyscrappers, tall buildings prevent polluted sir from spreading out. Thus causes more loss to the life residing in those areas. Such places often form smog. Such smog are similar to clouds but very dangerous for life. By the way, the term smog is derived from combining smoke and fog. In reality smog is a smoke in the form of fog. 

Consequences of Air Pollutions

Polluted Air does not only impact human, animals or birds but it has straight impact on entire eco system. Air pollution not only cause smog which obscures shapes and colors, also can even muffle sounds but they are particles which after certain time fall back on earth. This contaminates the surface of soil and water (pond, river, sea, stream, lake etc.). Contaminated soil are prime reason for killing crops. Recent study says even contaminated soil can kill trees and plants also. 

Towards the beginning of this article, I have mentioned, air pollution is responsible for acid rains. And this is because, sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxide particles in the air causes acid rain, when they mix with water and oxygen in the atmosphere. These come straight from vehicles. Acid rain are responsible for skin related problems, changes soil composition, degrades water quality in pond, river and well, harms harvest, damages crops and causes buildings to decay. Scientists claim acid rain is the root reason behind fast decay of mountains. It is also responsible for Birth Defects, diseases and lower reproductive rates.
